  1. It occurs to me that one complaint against honor-shame cultures has been the commonality of cultural lying. For example, saying what you think the questioner wants to hear as a means of honoring him/her or the person being asked about. I realize that is common in many cultures, but I think there it may be encouraged more in an HS context. I have not read all of the topics listed above, but I don’t see any that appear to point in that direction. Am I mistaken–either about HS encouragement of it, or its treatment in the topics?
